Mechanisation as to my understand is something which is mechanised or machine like. Be it steam powered or electricity powered, what is really interesting after reading the article is that it got me thinking about the steam powered era and the industrial revolution when electricity was still just a child. What happens if the world we live in now is still going on with just steam power?

Would we have fictional machines which the likes of how writer Jules Verne imagined it?

From an architectural point of view by my understand also we would be living in high spires amongst the smog and smoke of the factories, with the people below walking through the oil spilt rusted metal scaffolding streets. In Victorian-esque fashion wear, and scientific romanticism design that of what a steam punk era would be. Machines of their time were probably the kings of their time, compared to how we take machines for granted these days.
